The meeting took place in the Senate Hall of the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznan. The seminar presented the possibilities of using an ecosystem services approach to identify the ecological, social, and economic benefits natural systems provide. 

In addition to interested representatives of regional and local institutions, the seminar was attended by representatives of leading Polish scientific institutions studying particular types of ecosystems and ecosystem service values (Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation, Forest Research Institute, Institute of Geography and Spatial Organization, European Regional Centre for Ecohydrology, Institute of Oceanology, Poznan University of Life Sciences, and University of Warsaw).
